Woman Finds Cocaine Paste Inside Tomato Cans

Providence, Rhode Island, police say they found a large quantity of cocaine paste in some tomato cans hidden in the luggage of a 19-year-old woman

Providence, Rhode Island, police say they found a large quantity of cocaine paste in some tomato cans hidden in the luggage of a 19-year-old woman.

Maj. David Lapatin tells the Providence Journal the woman reported finding the three tomato cans in her luggage on March 23, after returning to South Providence from a weeklong trip to Costa Rica.

She told police she did not pack the cans and began getting threatening calls after returning home from someone who wanted them.

Police opened them and found the cocaine.

They are withholding the woman's name out of concern for her safety. No charges have been filed.
