The woman who was killed when she was hit by a car at a major Boston intersection on Wednesday has been identified, and police say they have found the SUV they were looking for in connection with the crash.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said Friday that the woman who was killed was Diva Helena Pina de Carvalho, 39.
Carvalho was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit at the intersection of Malcolm X Boulevard and Tremont Street in Roxbury, prosecutors said. Police were called about 5:48 a.m.
A driver stayed at the scene and has cooperated with investigators; no charges have been issued, but the incident remains under investigation, according to prosecutors.
But Boston police said Friday they were looking for a dark-colored SUV, possibly a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, in connection with the crash. The vehicle, which police described as a suspect motor vehicle, had last been seen heading toward the South End or Lower Roxbury on Tremont Street.
Police said Saturday they had located the vehicle, without providing any further details.
Authorities also haven't said what led to the crash in front of the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center, which caused heavy traffic delays Wednesday morning.
