A tussle between two great white sharks was caught on camera, and experts intend to examine the footage to learn more about their behavior.
The video recorded by Nate Jensen shows a smaller great white shark making contact with a larger great white shark off the coast of Chatham, Massachusetts. The second shark swims away in the footage.
Greg Skomal of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy said great white sharks off the coast of Cape Cod frequently bite each other, based on scars and wounds that have been observed.
"However, until this video was shot, we had never actually witnessed any kind of social interaction," Skomal said in a statement.
Skomal said the conservancy would closely examine the video "to determine if this was aggressive."
