A shooting in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood left one person dead and two injured, officials said Monday.

Police responded shortly before 2:30 p.m. to Schuyler Street, where the shooting took place outside a multi-family home.

Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins said a man was killed in the shooting. Two women suffered injuries.

Hours after the investigation began, two cars were towed from the scene, including a black SUV with the back windshield shattered.

"It's horrible. What for, because somebody is upset,?" said a neighbor who knows the man who was killed. "He was a good man, he was a father, he was a strong man, he believed in family, he believed in taking care of his kids, being there for his children and working hard."

Investigators aren't saying how the three people are connected, but they say this was a case of domestic violence.

"The preliminary investigation shows that this looks like an isolated incident and there's no concern for the neighborhood at this point," said Boston Police Deputy Superintendent James Miller.

A SWAT team could be seen entering a home as part of the investigation.

"This should happen in no street, no neighborhood in our city, it makes you angry," said former Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson, who grew up on the street and lives there today.

The two women who were shot have non life-threatening injuries.

Police have not said what the motive for the crime may have been.
