Firefighters rescued a woman from the third floor of a triple decker as it went up in flames in Somerville, Massachusetts on Friday.
Officials said the woman was trapped inside the home on Raymond Avenue and they had to use bucket trucks to reach her. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"We heard sounds of glass breaking and someone screaming," neighbor Luciam Fox told NBC10 Boston.
"I heard someone screaming for help, and I looked outside, and there was smoke pouring out and someone on the third floor calling for help," Eric added.
Witnesses said it was tense as bystanders tried to come to her aid.
"There was like huge amounts of smoke billowing behind her, like of course people were yelling at her to like stay low and everything," Fox said. "She could scarcely do that, she was sticking half her body out the window to avoid inhaling the smoke."
Somerville Fire Chief Charles Green said firefighters were able to get ladders to the woman and she is expected to recover. All eight people who lived in the home made it out, but the roof collapsed and the building is a total loss.

Firefighters were hampered by winds that spread the flames to a house next door, though crews were able to stop it from getting inside. The area is densely populated.
"It’s kinda scary because of the winds we don’t know if the fire is going to jump from house to house," neighbor David Diaz said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
