Temperatures Take a Dive After Groundhog Day

Highs today will reach into the 30s for most.

When you factor in the windy conditions today and through the weekend, coupled with near freezing temperatures, wind chills will plunge into the teens tonight and into the single digits tomorrow night, so get ready to bundle up!

However, as far as your Groundhog Day, regardless if Phil sees his shadow or not, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with clouds building in throughout the day besides a chance for a flurry late. Highs today will reach into the 30s for most. Skies will clear overnight which will allow those overnight lows to dive into the teens. Friday brings a winter chill to the area with high temperatures struggling to make it into the 30s south, 20s north under partly cloudy skies with light snow into the higher elevations of NW New England.

As we approach the big game Sunday, Saturday remains fair and wintry with highs in the 20s and breezy with “feels-like” temperatures starting off in the single digits in spots. For Super Bowl Sunday, New England remains breezy with highs reaching into the low to mid 30s with a chance for flurries Sunday night, mainly for northern New England as a system moves in from the Midwest. As always stay tuned to NBC Boston and NECN on the air and online for the very latest updates.
