Fire Destroys Barn, 2 Buildings

The fire started in a repair shop and spread to a trailer and a barn used for storage

About 50 firefighters helped contain a fire that destroyed three buildings in Vermont.

The Rutland Herald reports
it happened at about 10 a.m. Tuesday in North Clarendon. The fire started in a repair shop and spread to a trailer and a barn used for storage.

Clarendon Fire Chief Robert Flanders says crews were cleared from the scene by 2 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Flanders says the fire was started by sparks from a welder. He says the barn likely ignited from ambient heat.
