Police: Man Hit Pony With Snowmobile, Had Drugs

According to police, 42-year-old Randy Mason was in possession of a narcotic when they traced a snowmobile accident that killed a pony to him in Eden, Vermont.

Vermont State Police have accused a man of possessing a drug after they traced a snowmobile accident that killed a pony to him.

Police said the snowmobile struck and killed a miniature pony in a road in Eden on Dec. 23. The operator, identified as 42-year-old Randy Mason, was found at his place of business. Police said Sunday they cited him on a charge of possessing a narcotic. They said during questioning, Mason said he was involved in the crash.

Mason is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 18, 2015. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer.
