Vermont officials announced Saturday the arrest and indictment of Jennifer Simard, 46, of Brownington, for the murder of Kevin Smith.
On March 28, 2016, Police responded to a 911 report of an unresponsive man in a residence on Evansville Road in Brownington, Vermont.
Smith, 38, was found deceased with stab wounds on his back.
On March 2, 2018, an Orleans County Grand Jury returned a true bill indictment charging Simard for the murder, 2nd Degree, and manslaughter.
The indictment was the result of an on-going investigation that took place by the Major Crime Unit.
Simard is currently being held at the Northern State Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail. She is due to appear in Orleans Superior Court on Monday.
