World Famous Runner to Participate in 30th Annual Vermont City Marathon
One of the world’s most accomplished distance runners will help a Vermont race celebrate a milestone year, and you could run on his relay team!
The Vermont City Marathon announced that Meb Keflezighi will participate in the 30th edition of the race next year in Burlington.
Keflezighi is an Olympic silver medalist and in 2014 he became the first U.S. man to win the Boston Marathon in decades.
He’ll participate in several events leading up to the marathon over Memorial Day weekend and will also run a leg of the relay.
Keflezighi’s relay team members will be chosen by Run Vermont, the organizers of the marathon, based on inspirational stories of runners who apply by February 12, 2018.
The marathon is the largest sporting event in the year in Vermont with 8,000 participants and tens of thousands of spectators.
