Two people were injured when their car struck a moose on Interstate 93 in Campton, New Hampshire, late Saturday.
According to Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, the pair were driving northbound just before 11p.m. when their car struck a moose and veered off the road into some trees.
The driver was able to walk away from the crash. Bystanders lifted the roof of the damaged car and pulled out the passenger who was trapped inside.
Their quick action likely saved the passenger's life, Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue said in a public statement.
The pair were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The names of the driver and passenger have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
