Boston police have identified the 24-year-old woman who was killed Monday during a shooting in Dorchester.
Boston resident Alicia Restrepo was fatally shot at about 9:30 p.m. near Charles and Ditson streets, police said.
Upon arrival, officers found Restrepo in a car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced her dead at the scene.
"For her to just be shot, it doesn't make sense," said Ruben Morales, a middle school friend of Restrepo's.
The homicide was the 47th in Boston this year. Morales says he's been hearing about shootings in the area all too often lately, but he never expected his friend to be a target.
"Honestly, it could happen to anybody, so it is worrisome," he said. "It could have been me or anyone else that I know."
Another man, who identified himself as EC, described Restrepo as a kindhearted person, according to NBC10 Boston and necn’s sister station, Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra.

"She was a good girl," the 21-year-old man said. "She always took care of other people. She was almost like the mother of the group."
"I hope the police are able to figure out who the shooter is, because she is such a loving person," Morales said. "To have her life lost when she had her whole life ahead of her is just a tragedy."
Restrepo's brother, Nick, told NBC10 Boston Thursday that he and his family are still in shock. They are trying to pass the time with her memory as they wait for answers.
Police believe Restrepo was an innocent bystander and was not the intended target of the attack. As they continue their investigation into the fatal shooting, authorities ask anyone with information to contact them at 617-343-4470 or at 1-800-494-TIPS.
