LeSean McCoy Denies Domestic Violence Allegations as Police Investigate Home Invasion at His Georgia House

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is accused of being involved in an attack on his ex-girlfriend at a home he owns in Georgia. McCoy has denied the allegations and his mother is coming to his defense.

Police are investigating a home invasion in which two women were attacked at the Georgia home of NFL running back LeSean McCoy as the former Philadelphia Eagle continues to deny allegations that he abused his ex-girlfriend, son and dog.

A spokesman with the Milton (Ga.) Police Department confirmed to NBC10 they were investigating a report of a home invasion early Tuesday morning at McCoy’s home in Alpharetta, Georgia — a suburb of Atlanta.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that this residence was specifically targeted by the suspect or suspects, and not a random incident,” a police spokesman wrote.

Officers responded to the home invasion report shortly before 3:20 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived they found a woman who had been physically assaulted by a lone intruder, police said. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly demanded items from the woman. The woman was later treated at the hospital and released. A second woman inside the home also suffered a minor injury.

Police did not confirm the identities of the victims or any potential suspect. The investigation is ongoing. However, an attorney said the victims are McCoy's ex-girlfriend and her cousin.

According to the attorney who is representing McCoy's ex-girlfriend, the woman was sleeping in the home when the suspect entered with no signs of forced entry. The attorney claimed the suspect demanded specific items of jewelry from the woman that McCoy had previously given her but had requested back "on many occasions."

"In fact, after [she] refused to return her jewelry gifts to Mr. McCoy, he would often suggest to [her] that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive," the attorney said.

The woman suffered injuries to her head, face, arms and wrist after the suspect struck her with a firearm several times and struggled to get the bracelets off her wrist, according to the attorney.

The attorney also said the woman's cousin was struck in the back of her head with a firearm.

The incident occurred the same day McCoy was accused on social media of bloodying his former girlfriend's face.

An Instagram post Tuesday from a person who claims she is the victim's friend accuses McCoy of physically abusing the woman, his son and his dog, as well as injecting steroids. The allegations were posted alongside a graphic photo of a woman's bloodied and bruised face.

"@shadymccoy is THE DEVIL!!! YOU ARE AN ANIMAL!!!!!! We didn't say anything about how you beat your dog "Henny" into kidney failure. Let's not talk about all the times my best friend had to stop you from VICIOUSLY beating your son for small things like peeing in the bed. We kept quiet about your drug usage ... all the ILLEGAL steroids and needles you were using, but we will not keep quiet about this!!!!!! I can't believe you did this to my best friend!!!!! YOUR KARMA IS GOING TO BE SO REAL!!!!!! The world needs to know what type of animal you really are!!!!!!! This was just her yesterday on the left and now this morning this is her on the right!!!! #WomanBeater #AnimalAbuser #ChildAbuser @nfl @tmz_tv @buffalobills"

NBC10 and NBC News have not verified the authenticity of the post, which has since been made private along with the friend's Instagram account. However, the photo posted by the woman is the same photo sent to NBC10 by the victim's attorney who said her client suffered the injuries during the home invasion.

In his own Instagram post, McCoy says the allegations are false and that it has been months since he's had any direct contact with his ex-girlfriend or her friend. McCoy's mother Daphne McCoy spoke with NBC10 Tuesday and maintained her son's innocence.

"As a woman I feel bad for her, that somebody would do that," she said. "But I know he didn't do it."

Court records obtained by NBC10 show that McCoy initiated eviction proceedings against his former girlfriend in July 2017, saying that the pair were no longer in a relationship and that he allowed her to "live rent-free while at premises for five months."

"Why would he order somebody to do it when he handled it like this so far? He let the courts handle it," McCoy's mother said.

Court records show two attempts to serve the former girlfriend with the document but no other action. Eviction paperwork was filed again last month with McCoy listed as the plaintiff and the woman "and all others'' listed as the defendant.

The sworn statement to initiate the proceedings was signed by Tamarcus Porter, who played football with McCoy in college.

Porter was arrested with McCoy following a nightclub brawl involving off-duty police officers in Philadelphia in February 2016. No charges were filed after prosecutors said they could not prove who initiated the fight in which two officers were injured.

The sworn statement signed by Porter said McCoy is the owner of the house and that his ex-girlfriend was refusing to leave.

No attorney for McCoy is listed in court records for the June 6 filing.

The former girlfriend challenged the eviction June 22, saying she had been in a relationship with McCoy for at least two years and that she and her children have lived with McCoy at his house since October 2016, according to a motion filed by her lawyer.

A hearing on the woman's motion had been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, but her attorney requested a delay because of a family emergency. The judge issued an order resetting the case 30 days.

The motion alleges McCoy discussed marriage with her over Memorial Day and, on May 29, gave her "a substantial gift." McCoy left Georgia the next day and had not returned, according to the motion.

The woman went to Virginia on May 31 to attend her sister's graduation. While she was gone, on June 1, McCoy had some of his friends, family members and others remove her furniture and furnishings without her knowledge, the motion says.

The woman saw this happening through security cameras that she could monitor on her cellphone and called the police, according to the motion. The police stopped the removal.

The eviction papers were served on the woman's 16-year-old son on June 11.

The woman's lawyer argues that serving the eviction papers on a minor was improper and invalid and the proceedings should be quashed. The lawyer also argues that since Porter is not an attorney, the case should be dismissed.

The woman's attorney claims the eviction action was "completely falsified" by Porter and that McCoy never asked her or her children to leave the home. The last time the pair spoke was on June 1, when McCoy said he was going to meet the woman in Virginia for her sister's graduation, according to the motion.

McCoy's mother told NBC10 she was at the Georgia house about a month ago getting her son's belongings with officers by her side.

"And I still will never believe that he would send somebody to hurt her because again, she has two children at home," she said. "And her and her children have been living with him for like over a year."

McCoy's attorney told NBC affiliate WXIA in Atlanta he had spoken with McCoy who denied the allegations. McCoy has been staying in Miami and has not been in the Georgia home for weeks, according to the attorney. They also claim the ex-girlfriend removed the surveillance cameras installed around the house.

The ex-girlfriend's attorney claimed however that McCoy did not give her information about a new security system he installed in the home and she had "no access to arm or disarm the alarm."

McCoy has never been suspended by the NFL for violating the league's policy against performance enhancing substances over his nine-year career.

McCoy turns 30 on Thursday and is preparing to enter his fourth season with the Bills. He spent his first six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he led the NFL in yards rushing in 2013 before being traded to Buffalo in 2015.

The Bills issued a statement saying they have been in contact with McCoy and the NFL and will continue gathering information. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy says the league is reviewing the matter.
