A police officer from North Andover, Massachusetts, has been charged in a September DUI crash in Pennsylvania, according to reports.
The Centre Daily Times in Pennsylvania reports that North Andover Police Sgt. Daniel Crevier and Detective Brendan Gallagher were involved in a crash investigation in Patton Township. Back in October, necn reported that two unnamed officers had been placed on paid administrative leave after the crash, but the department had no further details.
Citing a police report, the Centre Daily Times reports that Crevier was driving a police car when he hit a parked trailer at a construction site just after midnight one early morning in September. A caller told local police two men were seen walking in the area, then getting in a car and being driven away.
The police cruiser had severe front-end damage and metal debris from a flatbed truck was also found at the scene.
According to the report, when police apprehended Crevier and Gallagher at a hotel, Crevier is said to have asked officers, "So you found my car?"
Crevier faces three misdemeanor DUI counts and a charge of causing damage to an unattended vehicle. He was reportedly arraigned via summons in Pennsylvania and is due back for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 4.
