Sanofi Recalls Zantac Heartburn Drug

Pharmaceutical giant Sanofi announced Friday that it is voluntarily recalling heartburn drug Zantac amid ongoing investigations into a carcinogen found in the medication in September. Many pharmacies in the U.S. had already pulled Zantac and its generic equivalents from their shelves, and at least two makers of the drug’s generic version had already halted production.
