White Shark Eats Whale on Cape Cod

Cape Cod saw an active shark season this summer with great whites attacking two people on separate occasions. One of those victims died. A group of researchers have been following sharks they tagged in 2012 to better understand their behavior. NBC10 Boston’s Susan Tran explains.

A white shark was photographed eating a whale in Barnstable Harbor on Cape Cod on Sunday.

The shark is estimated to be 18 feet and the finback whale was already dead before the shark started eating it.

The images were captured by Joanne Jarzobski, a marine biologist for the Hyannis Whale Watcher.
