Coast Guard Searching for 2 Missing Boaters, Dog Who Left Rhode Island

Ryan Hollis, Joshua Kaine Carone and Louis the Frenchie Bulldog left Rhode Island aboard a 43-foot sailing boat on Wednesday

The Coast Guard has confirmed that another man and his dog are also missing after it was discovered they were traveling with the boater who hasn't been heard from since he left Rhode Island on Wednesday bound for Miami.

Coast Guard officials say social media and cellphone information show Joshua Kaine Cairone and Louis the Frenchie Bulldog were with 40-year-old Ryan Hollis when he left Jamestown in a 43-foot Beneteau sailing boat, the Carol K.

The Coast Guard said Sunday that air crews are up searching for the trio and that urgent marine bulletins are being broadcast along the eastern seaboard.

Hollis was supposed to make a stop in Norfolk, Virginia, on Friday, where he was to check in with his girlfriend back in Rhode Island. She contacted the Coast Guard to report him missing Saturday.

On Sunday, officials shared a Facebook post from Kaine Cairone's page that shows a picture of the two of them on board Hollis' boat 12 nautical miles south of Newport.

The Coast Guard has posted photos of Hollis, his boat, Cairone and Louis on Twitter.
