A man was killed after being hit by an MBTA commuter rail train in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Friday afternoon.
Lawrence police said it happened just before 2:30 p.m. near Merrimack Street, where a train on the Lawrence/North Andover line hit a man in his 30s.
The victim was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.
MBTA Transit Police and state police assigned to the Essex district attorney's office are investigating the incident.
Sky Ranger footage from the scene showed the train still in the area around 4 p.m.
No other details were immediately available.
