Police said the two women were shot to death at a 7-Eleven in Portsmouth, Virginia late Saturday night. The man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a car parked nearby.
Naval Criminal Investigative Service identified the women who died as 19-year-old Shianne Soles and 23-year-old Meaghan Burns. Soles is from Veradale, Washington, and Burns is from South Deerfield, Massachusetts.
NCIS identified the man as 22-year-old Donavon Moora, of New York.
According to her obituary, Burns was trying to help a friend when she was shot and killed.
Burns enlisted in the Navy in 2015, serving as a Hospital Corpsman in Italy before being stationed in Virginia.
