Shortly after weighing in on problems at the polls in Hartford, which delayed the closing of two polling stations, Democrat Denise Merrill won her second term.

Connecticut's secretary of state will remain in office.

Democratic incumbent Denise Merrill has defeated Republican Peter Lumaj for the position.

The race was called the day after a judge extended voting at two polling stations in Hartford, following an issue with missing registration lists that Merrill said she would refer to the State Election Enforcement Commission for investigation.
