The Division Series field in the 2024 MLB playoffs is set.
The New York Mets became the final team to advance out of the Wild Card Series with a comeback Game 3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday night. New York used a four-run ninth inning, highlighted by a Pete Alonso go-ahead, three-run homer, to defeat Milwaukee in what was the only Wild Card Series to require three games.
The Mets join the San Diego Padres, Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers as the clubs to emerge from the opening round of the playoffs. The Brewers, meanwhile, exit the postseason early just like the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros.
The Division Series will see the introduction of the top two teams in each league to the postseason. The American League is topped by the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians while the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies lead the National League.
