Thousands of people remain without power in New England Thursday afternoon after a storm dropped a mix of snow and rain across the region.

Around 1,900 people were without power in Massachusetts as of 12:56 p.m., according to MEMA, which showed most of those outages in the central part of the state.

Another 6,500 remain out in Connecticut, according to Eversource. Other states were reporting smaller numbers - 165 in Rhode Island, 171 in Maine, 49 in New Hampshire, and nothing reported by Green Mountain Power in Vermont by mid-afternoon.

While the precipitation is over, power problems may persist. Throughout the day and into Friday, wind gusts will come in up to 40 or 50 mph. Paired with the heavy, wet snow and the cold - wind chills will be in the teens and single digits by Friday - more outages could pop up. For a detailed forecast, click here.
